Coming from a scientific background in microbiology, she took a circuitous route to her chosen career.  Leaving Connecticut at 23 to come to California she settled in Berkeley and worked for Lawrence Labs, then on to San Francisco where she worked in Cancer research at U.C. Medical Center.  Nan met her husband Jim, moved to Marin and settled down to married life and raising two sons.  Nowadays Nan loves to teach and exercises with the deep water aerobics group “Water Gym” to stay fit and enjoy a full and energetic life.
